Supervision

Individual or group supervision is provided for all pre-licensed therapists at Three Figs Counseling Center.

Associate clinicians are closely supported by licensed supervisors, our work is collaborative and assists associates to grow as a professional by increasing their understanding of the therapeutic relationship, the path of people they feel called to help, legal and ethical concerns, and fostering personal growth. Supervisors provide support to associate clinicians to grow their clinical skills and support the needs of clients.

As our clinical skills grow over time with experience, our clinicians are challenged professionally and personally to grow into licensed therapists who feel confident and able to address any needs of their clients.

Sevil Gonen, LMFT 110795, Clinical Supervisor and group practice owner of Three Figs Counseling Center.

She has strived to be a supervisor for associates for years. Her experience as an associate shaped her clinical skills today both professionally and personally.

She’s passionate about helping others foster growth in themselves as our lives as human beings are always evolving and changing.

Her work as a therapist began before her graduate work. Sevil worked with families of developmentally delayed adults as a behavioral assistant. Later attending graduate school at St. Mary’s College of California to earn her degree in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis on Marriage and Family Therapy. Her graduate program emphasized client center Rogarian approaches. Her interests in many theoretical orientations have evolved over the years from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy (couples, individuals, and step-families), Polyvagal Theory, and Perinatal Mental Health.
