Kathryn “Kat” Reeve, AMFT 145539
Hi, I’m Kat!
I am passionate about providing trauma-informed, strength-based counseling that is grounded in our innate ability to heal. I work with adults and teens to connect with our own aliveness and grow our capacity to face the challenges and joys of our lives. I support clients who are navigating major life transitions, struggling to balance the pressures of work, school, and relationships, or exploring identity. I also help clients with perfectionism, anxiety, depression, neurodivergence, and coping with stress.
I have a background in creative writing, expressive arts, and movement, and I enjoy bringing imagination, ritual, and creative expression into the process of therapy. I believe that deep healing happens not just in our minds but through our bodies. I have studied expressive arts and somatic therapy and am engaged in ongoing formal training with Somatic Experiencing International. I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling from San Francisco State University.
As a mom to a wonderful and capricious toddler, I have a special passion for supporting parents navigating the–sometimes beautiful, sometimes harrowing–journey of pregnancy, postpartum, and parenting in this modern world. I have received training from Postpartum Support International and support parents experiencing perinatal and postpartum anxiety and mood disorders, isolation, partner conflict, and as well as the paradigm shift in personal identity that can accompany parenthood.
My clients describe me as warm, grounded, and curious. I deeply value collaborative work that acknowledges the systems and cultures we live within. As a white cis woman, I am committed to investigating the implications of visible and less visible aspects of my identity and privilege. I have experience working with clients from diverse backgrounds and strive to be an anti-racist ally to the LGBTQIA+ community.
I provide sessions that are currently remote via telehealth.
