My Approach
My approach begins by assisting pre-licensed therapists in discerning their genuine calling as clinicians. Acknowledging the distinctive capacities of each therapist in supporting others underscores the core principle of my supervisory practice. I prioritize guiding supervisees toward discovering and nurturing their authentic therapeutic identities. By challenging clinicians both professionally and personally, I aim to facilitate the growth necessary for their professional fulfillment and development.
Before working as a therapist, I worked with clients and their families of developmentally delayed adults as a behavioral assistant. Later attending graduate school at St. Mary’s College of California to earn a Masters in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis on Marriage and Family Therapy. My graduate program was Rogarian-focused and was a wonderful client-centered foundation to grow my future orientations.
My focuses and training have grown over the years, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Emotion-focused Therapy (couples, individuals, and step-families), Polyvagal Theory, advanced Trauma training, and Perinatal Mental Health Specialist.
More about me…
“In my early professional years I was asking the question, How can I treat, cure, or change this person?
Now I would phrase the question in this way: How can I provide a relationship which this person may use for his own personal growth?”
~Carl Rogers
